"Let the inspections work." Get a clue.

I really don't have any idea how I can make this any clearer.

--------> Inspections CANNOT work. <---------------

-- There is no physical way on Earth that a team of inspectors can locate contraband in an area the size of California when the nation being inspected is actively trying to conceal something, and has had over four years to hide it.

-- This does not even take into account the fact that the United Nations, running the inspections, has every interest in the world in NOT finding something, being totally opposed to America's position on this.

-- This does not even take into account the fact that the U.N. and its partners were the ones who gave Saddam a clean bill of health before the Gulf War. And were totally wrong. From this document:

...The Iraqi nuclear program was massive, for most practical purposes it was fiscally unconstrained, was closer to fielding a nuclear weapon, and was less vulnerable to destruction by precision bombing than coalition air commanders and planners or US intelligence specialists realized before DESERT STORM. The target list on 16 January 1991 contained two nuclear targets; but after the war, inspectors operating under the United Nations Special Commission eventually uncovered more than twenty sites involved in the Iraqi nuclear program; sixteen of the sites were described as “main facilities.” Overall, the United States did not fully understand the target arrays comprising Iraqi nuclear, biological, chemical, and ballistic missile capabilities before DESERT STORM.

In other words, the people who were supposed to spot Saddam's nuclear bomb program completely screwed the pooch. Heck, our military didn't know about it either. If it had not been for the Gulf War, Saddam would be sitting on a nuclear arsenal right now.

The inspection program is a farce, agreed to by the United States for political reasons to mollify the Europeans and others. Everyone knew going in that there was no way anyone was going to find any of the real dirt.
