All you have in VB are basic boolean AND and OR, plus multiply/divide by 2 for shifting. For occasional use only...
Nice observation about judges dictating technology. They're in their element when it comes to Microsoft's business practices, totally in left field when they do things like prohibit bundling an HTML rendering engine in Windows on the grounds that it's a Web browser. You can embed that rendering engine in a standalone app to create user interfaces light-years better than dialog boxes with the aesthetics of a Soviet apartment complex, but it's difficult if you can't count on that component already available in every Windows installation. That was a real kick in the groin for users.
