Surely you don't really think it is the obligation of the US to go around "saving" the poor, subjugated, and otherwise dominated people around the globe? And do so by using force to save them?

Remember the US signed a treaty to respect the soverignty of other member nations of the UN and to allow them the right to self-determination.
