Certainly true, but I can't think of ANY religion or culture totally free of violence. There is a background of Sikh violence in India and that vicinity, based largely on territorial issues, but I have yet to see a Sikh blow something up in America. They are all around here, and run my local 7-11. Some have taken to wearing other forms of headwear to avoid the potential hassle caused by turbans, worn for religious reasons.
