It's important to understand the action-reaction process as pertaining to civil rights.
The NAACP is nearly a century old. The demands and conflicts have roots that go back centuries. To argue against reparations or quotas - one had better know one's slavery issues, etc.
Present day crime trends, ghettoes, etc are linked very closely to historic events.
One can only help people move on by addressing their past and helping them focus on their future.
