The fine, and a few not-so-fine, people of our armed forces are a cross-section of middle and lower class society.
AND, they are under the direction and control of civilian politicians.
This particular batch of folks who control our military don't seem to value human life much.
(As I point out to T. B. below, who made a similar comment, all it takes is a 0.5 second memory scan to remember Kent State. So much for the argument that Americans wouldn't shoot Americans.)
