I liked it, but the speeches were way too long. Hint to director, you make a 4+ hour movie you can't expect people to care what the speech is about after the 3rd hour.
While watching the movie I wanted to see more from The Northern General's point of view, but I guess General Burnside must not of made any long speeches. :)
I thought the costumes looked very authentic. So authentic in fact that you had to pay close attention to know whether you were watching the soldiers from the north or the south. It wasn't like in the tv miniseries The Blue and the Gray, where you could just look at the color of the uniform and know if it was a Yank or a Johnny Reb.
I didn't realize Gettysburg was part of the trilogy. Now I need to go watch it.
The thrid movie must focus on Grant and the Army of the Potomic. Is there a release date for it yet?
It was worth the price of admission, and thank goodness they gave us that 12 minute intermission at the 2 1/2 hour mark.
