"Every little country in the world that has a border conflict with another little country … they now have a great example from the United States," Cronkite, 86, said in response to a question from Drew's president, former Gov. Thomas Kean.

I guess Walter has lost it if he compares the Iraq situation to a border dispute.

I think Mr. Cronkite was talking about borders as something to step over while invading your neighbor. I don't believe he was talking about this invasion as being like a border dispute.

I don't disagree on this one. I heard today that USA will earmark 100 billion of oil Iraqi oil money as reparations to the Iraqi people. (that's about what the war will cost us) No reparations are planned for the US taxpayers. With no spoils, war is no longer affordable. This is a fact.

This one has me a little worried. How are we earmarking 100 billion of *Iraqi* oil money as reparations? Maybe I don't understand what this story is about, so could you give me a link? Isn't Iraqi oil money already Iraqi money? How can it pay our debt to them?

Carter may very well be the smartest and I don't question his motives but imo he is a poster boy for electing the C student.

This may be slander -- you should watch yourself! I know that Carter was salutatorian of his high school. Was attending Georgia Tech when he received an appointment to USNA. Continued at Union College. Do they give nuclear subs to C students?
