I often get in trouble when I post stuff I hear on the radio or TV with no link to the source.
Basically the report said that $100 billion of Iraqi oil revenue are proposed to be payed directly to the people of Iraq for the oppression they have endured under Saddam. "Reparations" was my poor choice of words. We are not saying we owe them anything but Saddam does for the misuse of their nation's wealth.
That would be about $5000 for every mwc in Iraq. How that would be accomplished, I have no idea. I assume that the coalition partners will have some input into the disposition of oil revenue in the rehabilitation of Iraq. The point is there are no plans to collect any spoils to offset our costs.
You missed the point of my comment on C students. The poster would say Don't elect A students, look what it got us. I know that Carter is smart and may well be the smartest (IQ) pres we have ever had. This imo makes a good case for electing C students. This is of course a facetious remark and means a lot more to those of us that believe Carter was one of the worst presidents in history.
