You're talking to a guy who regularly reads DEBKAfile. Who quotes Sullivan, Pournelle and Limbaugh.

You are in a place where the extremes of societies are pictured as the norm. Read phil sometime - as bigotted as Bull Connor, and as one-sided. And then read the applause he gets from many of the rest.

You are expecting sensitivity and understanding. It ain't there.

These are folks who in the main are nice personally, just fine, would be pleasant companions over a fence or campfire. They would pull you out of a burning house in an instant without hesitation. (A couple of them would be too drunk, those who can't find upper case letters for their names, usually.)

And, they have no idea how other people think, reason. They know, without any doubt, that other people think differently than they, and those people are WRONG.

It's as if being Caucasian, leading relatively sheltered lives in the US, with the relative advantages of relative wealth and creature comfort, has led them to understand the problems of the rest of the world. I call it knowing with learning. And, to listen to them, they KNOW!

It ain't there, ain't gonna be there, and they will never know what they don't know. Because they don't learn.

It's best to lower expectations, and to have none for eb.
