Bridge diver dumber than I thought...
I cannot find a link to the story in the Mercury News (a small item on page 3C of the Friday issue), but apparently for the protester who fell off the Golden Gate Bridge, it was his second trip into the Bay from the bridge. In 1988, the same guy fell off the bridge trying to lower himself down a rope into a bucket or trash can of some kind hanging below the bridge, and fell 220 feet into the water. He was rescued that time and survived.
The protest movement is trying to paint this guy as a martyr instead of an idiot.
