Which spotted owl?

Northern? Mexican? Californian? A favorite trick of environmentalists is to designate a "species" by its location, regardless of whether or not there are many others of its kind elsewhere.

That's not a normal gray squirrel in my backyard...that's a "Brosz's Squirrel," a very rare species, found only there, which means the environmentalists can now take my property.

Ornithologists are unclear over whether there is really any difference between Northern Spotted Owls and Californian Spotted Owls.

Also, the barred owls and spotted owls have been know to interbreed. Now what?

The environmental object of the game isn't saving owls, and never was. It's crippling human activity in the forests, and elsewhere.
