I would venture to say little girls have been named after flowers since the invention of human language in almost every culture on the planet. It's so obvious...
Names for little boys, however, would vary, depending on whatever variety of fast-moving, tree-climbing, nut-throwing, finger-biting, frantic little rodent was native to the area where the culture resided.
