Interesting take on modern permutations of theology
For what is religion but magic? Think about it: if the old ways are discredited, one either clings to them in irrational ways (cf., creationism), or develops new magicks to fill the need. Some convert to the religious traditions of other cultures not connected to Western tradition. Some move on to other, more philosophical or socially active applications, both advanced and retro. But most of us only want something to believe in, because we don't want to be alone.
