It's a Mesa

The right "eye" and right "nostril" are box canyons. As to the rest of the structure, it doesn't take a rock falling on my head to subscribe to the lava dome-mesa hypothesis. The whole structure, from the ridges around the edges of the structure to the large feature on the northeast slope, just shout out "Collapse" structures. Not too hard to envision the whole dome subsiding as magma drains back down the vent. Hey, I'm getting pretty good at this collapse stuff, huh?

(and no, "sidwalk geologist" does NOT mean that the face is made of concrete! Sheesh)
