I remember hearing a news report about a rogue wave that hit Florida (I think it was Maimi) a few years ago. Afterwards, I remember reading that some researcher claimed the wave was caused by a meteor impact at sea. If I remember correctly, at least one person was killed when the wave swept her out to sea.
