lookin' out the window

Of course solar irradiation is one of many factors. But what does it prove to point at one set of curves that bucks the general trend of all the others?

The subject is greenhouse gases and their contribution to global warming, and the NAS agreed with the IPCC that 1) global warming is real; 2) greenhouse gases are a major cause, even if the precise percentage of that contribution is still being studied; 3) human activity is the major source of the increase in greenhouse gases.

The paper has an abundance of the traditional qualifications: "likely", "precise amount is yet to be determined", "causal relationship cannot be unequivocably demonstrated", "there is some disagreement"...but focusing on the ritual incantations of CYA is to mistake the form for the substance. In the language of science, the NAS has come to a pretty definite conclusion supporting the reality and causes of global warming.
