Cone origin
The cones are fascinating - thanks for posting the article, Mike. Does anyone have the numbers for the inages in question?
What would happen if lava over-flowed areas with liquid or solid CO2 underneath? Could the cones have been formed in this way, rather than water? (I personally hope that the wet Mars model is the correct one, but Nick's arguments are persuasive enough that I have to consider them...)
