Dark energy acts like the perfect vacuum, even more perfect and more powerful than all the matter of the Universe combined. This energy is pulling the Universe apart. eventually, the pressure that still exists at the big-bang core of the Universe, a pressure possibly even shielded from the immediate effect of dark energy, will finally be laid bare. Dark energy will pull at this inter-dimensional rend and erupt yet another explosion of big bang expansion.
