"Hi Del,
From L2, wouldn't the Earth look like a very fine crescent (at most) and otherwise, look like a "New"Earth?
L1 would be much more interesting."
And it would hard to see the Earth from Earth/Sun L-2- it's in the same direction as the Sun- though from such a distance the Earth would still appear fairly big, so sun light could be completely blocked by Earth.
Hmm, Earth could appear as a weird red glowing object, the moon would be much smaller but appear brighter. In this darkness you would see the affects of Northern and Southern light, you could see the city lights and affects of moonlight. And as Moon went through phases it would be lit by either sunlight or earthshine. Moon could appear somewhat blue.
Earth/sun L-2 could be fairly interesting- at the right distance and location.
Now from Earth/moon L1 you would have a similar scene when Moon was eclipsed. So L1 would be more interesting/varied.
