I posted a comment on the vehicle shape over on the Steve Smyth Hits On The Chicks site. Think a cylinder would be more effective. No specific comments yet on the farming. Maximum output for minimum space may make many crops impractical, but it would take a lot of study. I believe others have worked on this problem in the past, as well. A few links:
