Space/Science » in reply to Re: Growing Food in Space

An interesting, but little known fact.

It's not commonly known that
food grown in space, has already been
eaten (at least, unofficially).

During the heyday of Soviet space activity onboard the Salyut-7 spacestation, radishes were successfully grown in a hydroponic
apparatus.
The radishes ended up...eaten...by the cosomonauts...without receiving permission from the scientists at ground-control.
Apparently the cosomonauts found their
regular rations and meals in space to
be rather...bland.
