Re: funny. . .

I went outside with binoculars for a quick viewing with my son (mosquitoes are terrrible here). We looked at the moon, Mars, etc...son had enough of the mosquitoes and went inside. I stayed and was looking for Delta Scorpii. They say it's been having periodic outbursts/blinking.

From Sky & Telescope:

JULY 30 -- MONDAY
The Moon forms a curving line with Mars, Antares, and Delta Scorpii this evening, in that order from left to right and in that order of brightness too.

Have you been keeping an eye on Delta Scorpii? It's the middle star in the nearly vertical row of three (the "head of Scorpius") to the right of Antares. Delta, a hot blue star, has been having an unusual outburst
for the last year. Compare it to Beta Scorpii just above it, magnitude 2.6, and Antares, magnitude 1.1. Delta is currently about magnitude 1.7 instead of its usual 2.3.

...but I didn't see it...I don't think I did. Just when I was about to put my binoculars down and go inside too, there was the ISS making her way (SW to NE) underneath Mars and then the Moon. :D

I know...lol well, it was exciting for me and I thought I'd share that with you. I had to email Raoul with my 'news'.
