Gordon and McBride

Justin,

Responding to the following:

The Gordon and McBride code is among the best but I do NOT recommend your getting this code (it would be like killing an ant
with a hand grenade).

very interesting though I wonder how it would run on my 750 Athlon. But from what you wrote it sounds like I would
have to learn to adapt it to generate the peicewise equations which is probably way over my head right now. It makes
sense to jut use the already generated one form the text book rather than remodeling them.

The Gordon and McBride code will run happily on your 750 Athlon if you compile it under G77 on Linux. The science behind it is first rate but the Fortran is nasty. I have a C language version that I translated from their code. My version is about 10 times faster but only works for selected atmospheric gasses. Again, you would be wasting your time playing with their code (you would have to modify it for low temperature applications). You want to look the phase transition stuff up from thermodynamics reference books.
