Pre-dawn lineup
In descending order of altitude, but ascending order of brightness:
Saturn, a few degrees northeast of Aldeberan
Jupiter, on the Taurus-Gemini border
Venus, just southeast of Castor and Pollux
All of them outshining a skyfull of first magnitude beauties (also including Capella and Betelgeuse)... the Plieades and the Orion Nebula look pitiably dim by comparison (Sirius was too close to the horizon - obscured by trees - to compare to Jupiter and Venus).
I have to be awake this time of morning, two days a week.. sometimes it's worth it.
E' (tired but inspired)
