I love that image M1104104.
I didn't see anything resembling ground fog. All I could see were some rounded or planar hill tops with no texture, unlike the slopes and valley floors.
If you are interested, I can send you a copy of my "polar channels" paper, which just got rejected from "Nature", so I'm busy reworking it for another journal. This puts a very interesting slant onto the gullies.
