Space/Science » in reply to Re: pronunciation question

Meum cerebrum nocet!

I asked this buddy about it, because in the past he's authoritatively corrected my Latin as if he were an expert. This one stumped him, and he had to admit that he'd been BS'ing me all these years!

So he went researching it, and found Talkin' Like The Ancient Romans.

Nothing on those rolling R's (and the pronunciation guide says all other letters are pronounced as in English), but it did confirm that it's proper to pronounce V's like W's. "Wallace Marr-in-arrus"...I don't like it, sounds too much like a Lithuanian accountant from Indiana.

Suppedisne?
