I thought so
To me, one of the funniest parts was when the local band in Parkes tried to play our national anthem in honor of a visit by the US ambassador to Australia. Instead of playing the "Star Spangled Banner", they played the theme song to "Hawaii Five 0". There was a lot of quiet humor in this movie like that. I'm going to buy a copy of that DVD, which is something I rarely do for space movies because so many of them are so badly flawed. This one is a keeper.
