"Interesting, they have a small section on Lunar Helium 3 with a rendering showing a possible mining rig. It says that, "if it were mined and transported to Earth, one 25-ton space shuttle cargo load could supply the entire U.S. energy needs for one year (!)."

Of course, that presupposes that fusion power actually works, but by the time we have a mining operation on the Moon, it will. (At present rate of progress, both options are many decades away, rather than "just around the corner")
