Your post sounds kind of like a reply to an earlier message, but why didn't you mention Stardust? If I recall correctly it will be sampling both the solar wind and Cometary particles and returning them to Earth (Along with gasp any putative space virus particles caught along the way).

Always wondered why if Barry believes in Hoyles Space Virus theories why he ICAMSR isn't more focused on the "immediate threat" of an active mission. A lack of logical consistency is one of Sagan's scientific baloney detector red flags.
