Re: Aerocapture II

Responding to comments:

[Sounds like an NTR boosted probe - else an chemical powered orbiter mission would take well over a decade if it
bounced around the Inner System then Jupiter to build up speed. I thought the JPL was going for the SEPS propelled
probe pictured at the web-site - not aerocapture friendly for the kind of speeds involved surely...]

Word is they want to use solar-ion. This is pretty stupid IMHO. They should be using VASIMIR with a nuclear reactor.

[What computer requirements does the code you use need? Is there a version for interested amateurs, like me, to
play with available??]

Good news: My codes are written in the C programming langauge and will compile on any platform including your home PC. I do all my development work on an Athlon running Linux using Gcc (accept no substitutes).

Bad news: I use this technology for interplanetary exploration. Unfortunately most of the human race wants to use this technology (ballistic missiles and reentry vehicles) to kill babies and pregnant women. It's not available for public release.
