Just about the time you posted, I was finishing up my Sunday morning shift at Accuweather. I'd been on a chat at yahoo while working (yes, it's allowed, as long as one also gets the work done), which at that time is dominated by Aussies and Kiwis. I urged them all to go outside - glad you had such a great show!
As posted below: valley fog and skyglow reduced the seeing substantially, but I was still spotting about 1 per minute at 6am local time (1100 UT), as twilight was beginning.
