What is the most beautiful celestial object in the cosmos?
OK!
I'm soliciting your opinions, here.
I'll go first....
For me, it's no contest. The most
breathtakingly beautiful celestial
object in the cosmos is the
"Ring Nebula" in Lyra.
"False-color" images of planets, moons, comets or other nebula don't count.
Incidently, when I first saw a glossy,
full-color image of the "Ring Nebula"
many years ago, I became hooked on astronomy and remain so to this day.
cheers.
Jake.
