a reference explaining inclination & doppler shift

It doesn't work that way. The wobble measured is a velocity shift in spectral lines. Depending on the angle of inclination of the orbiting planet, the lines shift alot (edge on) to little (highly inclined). But the mass of the planet determines the absolute magnitude of the shift. They can't tell the inclination and thus the Mass is a minimum guess. This led to initial controversy that maybe they were finding brown dwarf stars in inclined orbits but oonce many were found the stats said no.
