You know, there are so many arrogant swine who make the mistake of talking down to me and offer casual insults - its probably my easy going nature - and then are real surprised when they get bit in the butt...
Yeah, I know who I am. And I am going to repeat myself again, since it appears that some folks are so stupid they didn't get it the first dozen or so times.
There has not been a "modicum of rationality" in Mars studies. The "peers" have put out reams of paper that violate fundamental laws of physics, and when someone finally calls them on it, their defense is to point to the reams of paper.
This doesn't just go for the water, it goes for the radiation as well.
Facts is facts. If the "peers" can't do any better than write up papers that violate the fundamental laws of physics, then they deserve to have their funding cut off.
As far as my being a "kook", there are a whole lot of people who have been working through recent devastating impact events. Some may label them
"kooks" and try to pretend that nothing that they report on ever happened.
This will work for a while, until the craters are found. Then that game ends. Same story for "watery Mars" and "radiation free Mars". Mars is simply not "Earth-like"; what Mars is is Mars-like, dammit.
Facts is facts. No more feeding at the public trough for the Earth-like Mars piggies. No more; the money can be better spent elsewhere.

hough my post was positioned as a "response" to your post. Normally, I only
respond to posts that contain a modicum of rationality, but I've noticed an
abundance of (perhaps deliberate) misinformation on several subjects floating
around here as of late and felt compelled to respond. As I stated, I do respect
Nick's work, but I see that some have distorted his views or have chosen to
"adopt" White Mars as a vehicle to advance (or justify) their own kooky views. At
any rate, the culprits seem familiar enough with my description of them to
understand who I was addressing, and I noticed at least one of them has
responded, repeatedly.
