Actually, I think we're already in a state of decline; thanks to the corporate ladders of greediness, protected by the politicians on their payrolls and covered by the NSA and CIA who have money coming out both ends.
Our middle class has been declining since Reagan started trickling it down....now we are on the fast track like Charleton Heston in the Omega Man.
