Pretend you know nothing about earth...
We here on Earth have been broadcasting radio waves for many decades... in some parts of the radio spectrum we outshine the sun... All civilizations within say 60 ly could easily determine that there is a civilization in orbit around Sol with a year of 365 days and a day of 24 hrs...

my question is this: say they built a big radio telescope, could they recieve a clean copy of, and learn to decode, "I love Lucy"?

Remember, they have no idea how our TV'S work... I am curious, I have no idea how tv signals are encoded...

And I am terrified of what their reaction will be when they decode "who wants to marry a millionaire"
