Gents,
I followed the URL provided and setup and account. I tried to enter the discussion group but was blocked by the server because I lacked the "Email Confirmation Code". I presume Alex will provide that in due course.
Being an imbecile I setup the Yahoo account in clear text (did not use the encryption function Yahoo provided). Literally within seconds of setting up the account I was spammed by some Russian porno site (Isn't the Internet a marvel of technology!). This is annoying because it took me months to despam this particular email address.
Despite Justin's best efforts, there are indeed trolls in the Habitable Zone. Never-the-less, are you interested in asking your question now or shall we wait until I can get into this Yahoo website?
Allow me to anticipate your question: Is it practical to aerocapture to Jovian orbit? The answer is "No". To aerocapture, one must do a circularizaton burn at apoapsis, otherwise the vehicle will burnup on the return periapsis. The gravity well of Jupiter is so deep that the circularization burn requires more delta-V than simply doing a conventional Jupiter orbit injection burn at Jovian periapsis from heliocentric entry. Aerocapture ***does*** work for Neptune and Uranus but it is challenging. Missions to Triton should aerocapture from Neptune to save propellant mass. Aerocapture to Saturn is best achieved through Titan. Titan's atmosphere and gravitational field are the best suited for aerocapture in the Solar System.

Space/Science » in reply to Gary, an aerobraking question for you.
