Raoul, Overclocking is a hobby that deals with increasing the speed at which your processor (or video card) opperates(MHz). This is done incrementally with associated steps in voltage. The faster it runs, the more heat is generated. The processor will start to fail and at this point you "let off the gas" a bit
Hobbiests will go as far to use liquid cooling and even refrigerant to get higher speeds.
Its interesting to note that all processors of the same "Family" are the same regardless of rated speed. They all are "cut off " the same sheet (was 150/sheet) and individually tested. Because of impurities, some chips can not handle higher speeds and are then "rated" at slower speeds. This allows the manufacturer to charge full price for the faster chips and allows them to market slower ones to people with less Euros.
While overclocking a laptop is impracticle , it does make for a good Joke.
