Re: What is this thing?

I once caught the reflection of a ceiling lamp on a window in a pic taken indoors. It looked like a bright saucer-shaped blur in the sky, and I really got a kick out of showing it around. A distressingly large number of people would stare at it like it was a snipping from the Shroud of Turin or something. The application of a little skepticism and/or analysis seemed a rare thing. (Maybe I hung around with the wrong people back then!)

I'm reminded of the poster of Mulder's wall in The X-Files..."I Want To Believe."
It's a cute catch phrase, but I think too many people take it literally. They "want to believe" so badly they'll view a smudge on a video frame as proof of extraterrestrial visitation.

Where that red-headed firebrand of skepticism, Scully, when you need her?
