Why not for propulsion! As for electric power....
Or do you mean radioactive-isotope thermoelectric generator like o the Galileo spacecraft or the Voyagers?
A great idea that works: RTGs!
As part of an aerobraking(slower) technique, getting power from solar has worked well too.
I say, use them all on the same craft.

*Knowing exactly where bulky, large, dark matter is in order to avoid it while traveling at top speed would help. A funny, but something to keep in mind.
