I've got a slot on my floppy drive where I can plug a memory card directly.

I have no idea what the speed rating is.

USB3 is supposed to be like 5 GB/s. Don't know what slowed you down.

I do know that a lot of hubs and things will run everything at whatever the slowest USB is that's plugged in.
