I might agree with your objection to EP's use of the word "recent" (even though impactor predate Earth's geology) but then you continue on trying to downplay the significant of the potential danger of impactors.
Impactors are a real threat and we aren't doing enough to address the problem- just look at the Moon.
That's what the Earth would look like if Earth's geological activity wasn't erasing the evidence.
