I just found out the HST didn't take 12 years to build, but it was delayed several years by the Challenger disaster. So maybe it is possible to launch the NGST in 2009. I would like to know how they intend to protect it from meteorite impacts, since the HST is riddled with poc marks, about 100 per square meter.
