Ejection seats

I watched a program on a British ejection seat manufacturer a couple of years ago. Apparently they built the best one available in a capitalist country, and the US Air Force bought most of their production.

While I'm not sure of the percentage, I believe it was 25% of their seats which were used. In other words, 25% of the one- and two-seat military jets are disposed of by crashing.

Seems like a lot.
