Re: Listen to the Aurora

I don't know how many of you have seen Auroras in person, but ones the size of the one shown at Cantwell (Denali or Mt McKinley Park) and the much larger ones can actually be heard. They crackle and make a whip-sawing noise. You have to be away from highways, generators and such noise polution, and there must not be even a little wind as wind thru tree limbs is deafening by comparison. But once you identify the noise it will actually wake you up at night seeming to invite you out to see the show. The photographs just don't come anywhere close to the experience.
