The idea of rocket racing as a NASCAR next gen seems wicked cool to me. But the idea has yet to "take off." As a NFL football fanatic and decided non-interested in NASCAR party I was surprised to learn that the FOX TV network has higher advt earnings from NASCAR than the NFL. If somehow the rocket boys (and girls) could get their act together and some clever marketeer bankroll the thing, I wonder if the hot new phenom could be rocket racing? The big downside to me is litigation potential from "hard landings" and FAA restrictions like you can't fly one of those rockets if you're wearing a rag on your head.
