Re: Pressure suits

I once visited Hill AFB in Salt Lake City and got a tour of the hangars. I tried on a pressure suit and hopped in an F-16 (more like crammed myself in an F-16). The pressure suit is hooked up to an air pump that inflates bladders in the pant-legs during hi-gee turns and at high altitudes. At the same time the seat tilts forward to put more pressure on the legs. This keeps too much blood from flowing into the legs, and limits black-outs to a few seconds.
