We're just getting started with our project so I don't know what NASA's plans are for space debris. Keith keeps a pretty close eye on NASA and has a lot of connections. Odds are, if he doesn't know, he can find out. I agree with his assessment

"Editor's note: this decision by NASA is just plain nuts."
