Yeah, it's easy to get so enthralled with the hype that the brain shuts down. Happened to me during the Gulf war and I swore it'd never happen again.

Sterling's article was a thrilling read, and I hope it's more truth than fiction. It's difficult to supress the "fist-in-the-air-yeehaw!" while reading it.

I guess I just want to keep my brain functioning sufficiently that I take everything with at least some skepticism, and keep in mind the fact that even when a smart-bomb is on target, it's still blowing the crap out of human beings...sure, some of them are evil buggers who deserve it. But too often, it seems, some aren't.
